About Erica:
Erica’s life took an unexpected turn about six years ago when she made a commitment to her own health and fitness in order to combat a long family history of obesity and weight related health issues. Having never been athletic or very active in general, the gym was overwhelming and she far from enjoyed working out. Determined, she began a journey that has resulted in a passion for helping people find the health, confidence and love for movement she found. Her career in fitness began with multiple group fitness format certifications. While she loved group coaching, she quickly noticed a gap in her ability to connect one on one with members and coach clients with specific needs in their training program. She quickly pursued her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, through which she is currently pursuing her Corrective Exercise Specialization. As she continued to progress her own fitness, she found CrossFit and it was exactly the challenge she needed. Her love for CrossFit grew quickly and within the first year, she was a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Being a Coach For Life brings together her passions for group fitness, one on one coaching and the practice and methodology of CrossFit that she believes in whole heartedly.
A message from Erica:
I’m so excited to be a part of the team here at CrossFit Austin! Coaching and training was never something I planned for myself but I honestly couldn’t see myself doing anything else. It has changed my life and I hope to inspire that change in and for others. My hope is to bring an energy that encourages people to do things they never thought possible, to grow in people a love for movement and a confidence in themselves. I love teaching and coaching people, no matter where they are in their fitness journey, getting to know their “why” and seeing their lives change for the better!
