Human performance and movement have always seemed to be at the forefront of my life. From being a little boy playing on tee-ball teams to high school sports, there has never been a moment in my life where I wasn’t part of a team or a sport that challenged me both mentally and physically. Although I didn’t play sports at the collegiate level, I was fortunate to find the sport of fitness at the end of my high school career, Crossfit. I have now been immersed in the sport for over 6 years and have had quite a journey. I continued doing Crossfit throughout my undergraduate career as I studied kinesiology but being young and naïve, I injured myself after a couple of years due to my ignorance and unwillingness to take care of my body. That led me to having many conversations with healthcare professionals such as chiropractors and physical therapists, which sparked my interest in the field of therapy. As a result, I found my passion for physical therapy, my passion for helping others optimize movement and improving their quality of life.

A Message from Mark:
My hope is to spark that same passion for functional movement and exercise in others and help them understand the importance of being able to move efficiently. I believe in “exercise as medicine” and no matter your level of fitness, we must be prepared to translate movements we perform inside the gym to real life situations. I am grateful for the opportunity to apply my knowledge as a student of physical therapy and as a level 1 Crossfit coach to the community of Crossfit Austin. Let’s get moving!
